The Delhi State Wheelchair Basketball Association (DSWBA) has launched a bit giving campaign to raise money for 20 sports wheelchairs, both for men & women.

Founded in 2015 , the Delhi State Wheelchair Basketball Association (DSWBA) was created to encourage people with disabilities to pursue Sports on Wheelchairs. It not only conducts events free of cost for PWDs (persons with disabilities), but also helps them learn wheelchair basketball & creates opportunities for them to participate  in National & International Tournaments.

Tasneem Fatima is  the founder of  the organisation and a National Wheelchair Basketball player. Three years ago, an accident led to a spinal cord injury which left Tasneem  wheelchair bound.  The feisty young sportswoman started playing wheelchair basketball just four months into her  injury and bagged a Silver medal in the National tournament, six months after her procedure.

Tasneem says, “I’ve set up a live campaign for the requirement of sports wheelchairs or basketball wheelchairs, that are expensive to start with. The cost of one sports wheelchair is approximately around Rs.32,000. We hope people will help realise the dreams of differently-abled Basketball players. Adversities can happen to anyone, at any point of time.”
